ETHICS IN HUMAN LIFE

ETHICS
Ethics are relevant with questions of how people ought to behave in society, and normally, they are useful for people to take moral judgements using the criteria for what is right or wrong. A concern about something or someone, rather than ourselves and our own interests is considered as the heart of ethics. Also, ethics is concerned with the interests of others, society's interests, God's interests, "ultimate goods," and so on. Thus, when someone thinks ethically, they are thinking about something beyond than themselves. Traditionally, ethics give us general advice on how to live, having a good and happy life.

PRACTICE OF ETHICS
Most of our concepts of ethics have been derived from religions, philosophies and cultures. If ethical theories are to be effective in practice, they must have an impact on how people act. Ethics are not only about the morality of particular courses of action, but it is also about the goodness of individuals and what it means to live a good life. A person uses ethical principle when making decisions and behaving in both personal and professional settings. These ethics influence various aspects of a person's life and help individuals develop their work ethic, personal and professional goals, and values. Individuals use their ethics to determine between right and wrong and influence how someone behaves in challenging situations. Each person's system of ethics varies, but many people share common ethics such as honesty and respect.
For example, someone is sitting in a cafe with a friend, on a table that he likes very much and that has the capacity for 5 people. A group of 4 or 5 people come and they have no other table big enough for their group. Then he and his friend can move to a smaller table and make the life of the 4 or 5 people easier and more pleasant, without sustaining any significant damage themselves. An ethical judgment that is no good in practice must suffer from a theoretical defect, for the whole point of ethical judgments is to guide practice.

ETHICAL ISSUES

Ethics does not always provide the best solutions to moral problems. Indeed, a lot of people believe that there is no single right answer to many ethical questions, only a collection of principles that may be applied to specific situations to provide all concerned with clear options. Some philosophers go even further and say that all ethics can do is remove the ambiguity, and clarify the issues. After that, it is up to each person to come to their own conclusions.

HAPPINESS AND INTRINSIC VALUE

Happiness is a feeling and emotion of greatness that can make an individual feel completely content as well as absolutely jubilant.  If something has intrinsic value, it is good on its own and is not utilized for attaining anything else. An example of an intrinsic value would in fact be happiness, since being happy is worthy on its own, not because happiness will attain something greater or different. In opposition, something contains instrumental values when it is used to obtain something else that has value to an individual. To me, the intrinsic value of happiness is essential to a joyful, satisfying, and content life style. Although happiness can be acquired through many unique things, ideas, or actions, genuine happiness does not need any materials or objects, just happiness on its own.

The discussion of ethics provides an understanding of human behavior and decision making. We must be mindful about how others view us, our decisions, and our actions. Negative ethical decisions are noticed more frequently and provide a basis for judgment rather than positive ethical decisions.
